H.E. Union Minister U Win Khaing for Ministry of Electricity and Energy met H.E. Mr. Lee Sang- hwa, Korean ambassador for the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and companions at Minister”s Partour, Office No.(27), on 13th March, 2018 in the morning.
In this meeting, Union Minister U Win Khaing said that MOEE has been proceeding to fulfill electricity demand by generating from hydro , natural gas and renewable energy and to get reserve electricity. The current electricity generation is 3000MW but demand is 4500MW per day. Therefore, MOEE has decided to implement 3 LNG to Power Projects

H.E. Union Minister U Win Khaing for MOEE visits and inspects the land for 500 kV Phayagyi substation, which will be constructed in the future, Zaungtu Hydropower Plant and Kamarnut substation
- H.E.Union Minister U Win Khaing for MOEE accompanied by Bago RegionChief Minister U Win Thein, Deputy Minister Dr.Tun Naing and Permanent Secretary U Tin Maung Oo arrived at milestone no.40 of Yangon- Mandalay highway and inspected the surrounding area for 500 kV Phayakyi sub- station which will be built near future. Condition of performance and construction of sub-station were explained by responsible persons. Depending on their explanation, the additional explanation was made by Deputy Minister.

Kawnglanghpu Township Electrified
Under the guidance of the State President's trip to Putao- Kawnglanghpu on 13th January 2018, H.E. U Win Khaing, Union Minister for MOEE instructed to transport 10 kW×3 no. generators to Kawnglanghpu in order to distribute electricity across the town. They were moved very difficult due to no motor way but successfully arrived at Kawnglanghpu on 12th February 2018. The town was electrified by 18.75 kW generator before. For more electricity supply, the construction of new transmission line 400 V × 3200 feet was completed on 27th February 2018 and opening ceremony for transmission line 400 V × 3200 feet and totally 48.75 kW generator was held on 5th March 2018. Battalion commanda lieutenant colonel Nay Myo Zaw, township administrator U Myint Tun and U Peta, personality of the town, cut the ribbon to open this ceremony. Now, Kawnglanghpu is electrified almost the whole town.
